Installation:

The installation process differs depending on whether you have a polycarbonate end closure or F-Section for polycarbonate roofing sheets.

End closure:  When using polycarbonate roof sheet, end closure can be sealed onto it using a low modulus neutral cure silicone.  By applying the silicone along the underside of the end closure's top lip, you can create a watertight seal.

F-Section:  You can attach PVC F-Section to polycarbonate sheeting by using a snap down rafter supported glazing bar from Varico.  The F-Section is inserted neatly into the bar's base, resulting in a weatherproof seal and finish.  Aluminium F-Section should be used as a stand-alone product in place of and end bar.

FAQ's

If you are considering purchasing polycarbonate end closure from us, you may have a few questions to ask.  Before contacting us, please check whether the following section has the information that you are seeking.

At what end of a polycarbonate sheet should an end closure be installed?

An end closure should be affixed at the end of the sheets closest to the gutter - in other words, at the sheets lower end.  If you structure is open all round such as a pergola roof, end closures should be used on the top and bottom of the panels.

Does an F-Section always have to be installed with a snap down rafter supported glazing bar?

No - you could instead simply install an F-section by itself.  Even without the bar, you can still use an F-Section to form a watertight, draughtproof seal to the roofs edges.

How long is an aluminium F-Section likely to last?

We offer F-Sections made of high-quality aluminium, which is renowned for its long lifespan.  This material has been known to last for up to 50 years - and often longer.
